Sighted by Man Utd after just 2 substitute appearances for Atalanta, Amad Diallo signed for the Red Devils in 2021, for £37m, at just 18 years old, with hardly any first team experience.
And in just his second appearances for the club, he managed to score a huge equalising goal against AC Milan, but it was downhill from there.
Because despite the goal, Solskjaer and his coaches at the time didn’t believe he was ready and sent him out on loan to Rangers, where he showed some promise but didn’t manage to nail down a starting spot.
So he was sent out on loan again the next season to Sunderland, where he truly won the hearts of the Sunderland fans with some dazzling performances accompanied with 18 goal contributions.
So surely now, he would get some regular minutes at Manchester United?
Well it looked that way until he picked up an injury during their pre-season tour, which sidelined him for 5 months.
And when he did finally return, he found his minutes to still be far and few between.
So what better way to prove yourself to Ten Hag and your coaches, than by scoring the winning goal in the 120th minute of the game, against your biggest rivals!
